Blue Badge Application Support

The Blue Badge scheme aims to support people with severe mobility problems to access services and facilities by enabling them to park as close as possible to their destination. Our Officers provide practical assistance to apply fpor a Blue Badge.

Budgeting Advice Service

We recognise that being able to budget effectively is equally as important as having income maximised, as both aspects are required in order to ensure that older people are financially able to live safe, warm and independent lives.

Community Care Information and Advice

The Community Care system can be daunting and difficult for some older people to navigate at times, which is why our trained Officers are here to provide information, advice and guidance to ensure that older people get the support they require.

Cumbria Cerebral Palsy Support

We support people with Cerebral Palsy of ages and their families and carer's.

Debt Advice Service

Our Officers provide the vital debt advice in a friendly an impartial manner for those older people who may find themselves in this situation.

Falls Awareness and Risk Assessment Advice

Everyone is at risk of falls as they age; it’s a big cause of Hospital Admissions and can result in serious injuries and long term complications.

First Contact Information and Advice Service

We offer a wide range of quality services, from supporting you to stay independent, safe and warm in your own home to keeping fit and providing extensive social opportunities. Our services are for anyone in South Lakeland who is aged 50 or above.

Hearing Loss Service

The Hearing support service provides information and advice about hearing loss, NHS hearing aid batteries and basic hearing aid maintenance and demonstration equipment for assisting with hearing loss.

Holistic Compass Assessment

If someone contacts us or is referred to us through a third party for assistance and advice with their permission , we can arrange a home visit by one of our Case Officers to provide face to face support and complete a Compass holistic assessment.

Home Energy Checks & Energy Efficiency Advice

Keeping warm at home is vital for our health and wellbeing, especially for older people with long term health conditions. We provide a range of information to ensure older people are able to stay warm while also being able to afford their energy bills.

Housing Options Advice

People find themselves in need of changing their accommodation for many reasons, but this move is not always easy and knowing where to start can be challenging.

Income Maximisation Service

Welfare Benefits often go unclaimed because people do not know they would be eligible. Our Officers complete full benefit checks and provide advice and support through the process, in view to maximising income and reducing financial stress.

Lunch Clubs

We have lunch clubs running across the whole of the South Lakeland area. You’ll be able to meet up with a group of friends from your local area and enjoy an excellent, freshly cooked meal in a restaurant, hotel or pub.

Money Advice

As part of our Money Advice support we undertake full benefit checks in view to applying for any unclaimed welfare benefits to increase a client’s income, alongside working to reduce their expenditure and providing advice regarding effective budgeting.

Power of Attorney Service

As part of our holistic support, our Officers can provide information, advice and practical assistance in regards to completing and registering the Health and Welfare Power of Attorney.
