Volunteer Role

If you are interested in film this is the opportunity for you! Our dedicated team of projectionists are the ones who make sure our cinema and livestream events run on time and to perfection. This is a fantastic opportunity to try something new and learn a lot more about what goes on behind the scenes at the Forum.

The Forum is a multipurpose venue - and we offer a cinema programme of recently-released films, shown most weekends, as well as satellite transmissions from the National Theatre, Royal Opera House, and Royal Shakespeare Company. We need volunteer projectionists to ensure the smooth running of the cinema and live screening events. The shifts vary according to the Forum's programme. We provide full training. Projectionists check the trailers and feature films, including image and sound levels, prior to the screening, and sit in to watch the film and monitor quality, making adjustments to the sound if needed. A Manager is always on duty to provide help and guidance.

The first step is to fill in a Volunteer Interest Form. This can be downloaded from our website (www.forumnorthallerton.org.uk) in the 'Get Involved' section or this website. You can also pick up a copy at the Box Office or email [email protected] to request one to be sent to you. This can then be returned to us via email, post or in person. Once we have received your completed form, we will then invite you in for an informal chat to get to know you better and to familiarise you with the roles on offer and the venue. This is organised based on your availability, but we will generally be in touch no later than two weeks after we have received your form.
