Hambleton Community Action are currently seeking volunteers for the following roles:
Community Car Scheme Drivers*: Use their own vehicles to provide lifts for people who are unable to access public transport. Destinations include health appointments, shopping trips and other essential journeys.
Shopping Angels*: Support people to do their own shopping by using their vehicles to offer transport and provide help around the shop, reading labels, packing, etc.
Community Visitors*: Support people who feel socially isolated by visiting them in their own homes. Visiting times are flexible.
Carers Respite Sitters*: Give carers a break by sitting with the person being cared for. Volunteers usually visit once a week, at a time convenient for the carer and volunteer (normally around 2-3 hours.)
Mentors*: For our supported volunteering programme, and to help at our Womens’ peer support and social groups.
Shopping/Prescription Collectors: Collect and deliver shopping and/or prescriptions for people who struggle to get out.
Telephone Befrienders: Call people for a check in and chat and offer a listening ear.
Group and Activity Supporters: Support our group social activities playing games and having a cuppa and a chat.
Office volunteers: Help with answering the telephone, photocopying, typing, research, undertaking fundraising activities and preparing activity materials.
Trustee Board Members: Support the charity with experience of fundraising, governance, etc.
We are developing lots of lovely new projects so it is likely more roles will become available.
