The service is part of the national ‘NHS Talking Therapies, for anxiety and depression’ programme (formerly known as Improving Access to Psychological Therapies [IAPT]), developed to improve the delivery of, and access to, NHS psychological therapies for depression and anxiety disorders.
Our service supports people with their mental health and wellbeing by providing access to short-term talking therapies for mild to moderate common mental health problems. We do this by completing an initial assessment and recommending suitable therapies, or support, best suited to the problem/s a person is currently experiencing and the goals they have in mind.
All treatment is provided by trained therapists; either one to one, via online therapy (which we call SilverCloud) or in a group course/workshop format. A range of practitioners work within the service. These include Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs) and High Intensity Therapist who receive regular clinical supervision and training.
Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP’s) are trained to deliver different interventions for example; guided self-help materials in the form of one-to-one work, courses/workshops and SilverCloud. Our High Intensity therapists work one-to-one with clients.
