Welcome to Ohana – Supporting Families with Children Who Have Special Educational Needs or a Disability.
Based in Ripon, Ohana is a dedicated charity committed to uplifting families of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our mission is to provide compassionate, comprehensive support to parents, caregivers, and families as they navigate the unique challenges and joys of raising children with SEND.
Our Vision
At Ohana, we believe in building a strong, inclusive community where no family feels alone. Every child deserves a chance to reach their full potential, and every family deserves access to the resources, guidance, and emotional support needed to help their child thrive.
Our Play Club is a welcoming and inclusive space for children aged 0-10 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Held every Saturday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Ripon Community House, Play Club offers a safe and supportive environment where children can play, explore, and socialise, and families can connect with one another.
Teen Club is a welcoming and inclusive space designed for neurodiverse teenagers aged 11–17 (secondary school age). We meet every Saturday morning from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Ripon Workhouse Museum for a fun, relaxed, and social experience.
Our Parent Carer Groups provide a welcoming and supportive environment where you can connect with others who truly understand your journey. Held monthly in Ripon and Harrogate, these sessions offer a safe space to share experiences, seek advice, and gain encouragement from fellow parents and carers facing similar challenges. Whether you are looking for practical tips, emotional support, or simply a friendly chat, our groups are here to help you feel supported and empowered.
