Bedale Community Minibus
Hambleton
Richmondshire
Bedale Community Minibus aims to provide affordable transport for Community Groups, elderly and disabled people, and others in need in the Bedale and surrounding area, to assist with Community/social events and to maintain an independent lifestyle and prevent social isolation.
We operate as a Charitable Organisation and provide the service to both individuals and group members of the Local Community at very affordable rates.
The minibus is run solely by volunteers who act as the Trustees of the Charity, the Office Admin Team, the Treasurer and most importantly the Drivers and Escorts for the buses. In many cases individuals are involved in more than one of the specific roles.
Booking the Minibuses
We currently run two 14 seater custom built diesel Minibuses capable of carrying 13 passengers and a driver both equipped with hydraulic rear wheelchair lifts and a selection of additional seat belts and fixings to cover a wide range of disability issues.
Both buses are normally accessed through the side sliding door which is equipped with folding handrails and a folding step. Hand holds are built into all seat backs to aid passage through the vehicle. All seats have full seat belts which should be worn at all times. The passenger area is equipped with a separate heating system and lighting to ensure passenger comfort at all times.
Please contact the office either by phone during office hours or by email if you would like to hire one of our minibuses, this gives the opportunity for the Office Team to clarify any queries you might have, The initial enquiry will confirm that we have a minibus available and a provisional booking will be entered in pencil into the office diary.
