Royds has always been an organisation that looks to the future whilst respecting the past.
A lot has happened since it’s origins in the early 1990s and since 2020 Royds, along with new management, has been developing its new strategy in line with the evolving landscape of the Royds Community – the heart of Royds Community Association.
With a range of community assets, Royds Community Association really is A Place for Everyone.
Sustained by Royds Enterprise Park, an industrial park focussed on offering a range of enterprise facilities from meeting rooms to offices and industrial units all with a community-led approach.
As well as providing Royds with their head offices, the Park provides a core income stream from 47 Industrial Units, 8 offices and 4 meeting rooms.
The Park has proved a hit with both local start-up businesses and larger, more established firms within the Bradford area. We pride ourselves on our facilities offered on site and through our reception services.
But importantly we credit our success to the strong sense of community Royds fosters with all its tenants and site users. Each feels as much a part of the local community as the business community. Everyone supports each other and everyone gets involved with the tenant-based events held on site.
Whilst we have seen some tenants come and go we are proud to have been the base for many for over 10 years.
Royds Community Association is also home to Woodside Village Centre, Delph Hill Community Centre and Buttershaw Healthy Living Centre.
Sited at the centre of the Woodside estate, Woodside Village Centre consist of a minimart and takeaway which are offered on commercial tenancy basis whilst ensuring that the services available are there for the community they serve, the residents of Woodside.
The Community Centre is the final part of the village centre which is a great local facility with an on-site café, meeting rooms and space for events as well as a sports hall.
Located within the Delph Hill community, our Delph Hill site is a little smaller than Woodside but still packs a punch when it comes to community services. Working with residents, we have an on-site café, meeting space and a sports hall.
Both our Woodside and Delph Hill centres area available for public and private bookings.
Following the original consultation with local residents of Buttershaw, our premises in Buttershaw have always been home to GP services, ensuring key services are available at a local level. Occupied by The Ridge Medical Practice, part of The Five Parks Primary Care Network and one of our trusted Partnerships.
Whether for local residents or local businesses, working together for the benefit of all continues to be at the heart of the Royds ethos.
Royds work hard to develop and offer services across the Royds Ward and beyond.
From our Well Being Café and Befriending Service to Councillor and service drop-ins we strive to make services accessible to those who need it. We also welcome working with other 3rd parties in the sector to bring their invaluable expertise to our area. Whether it be in support of Health & Well Being, Youth groups or Employment and much more. We are always open to talking.
Royds are proud to be the VCS Anchor for the Wow Partnership, one of thirteen members of the Bradford Community Partnership Network. The Network operates across the entire Bradford District working together with other health partners to improve health and wellbeing. Covering Royds, Great Horton, Wibsey as well as parts of Queensbury and Little Horton we represent the combined views of the VCS sector organisations. The Partnership is inclusive and we welcome engagement from all VCS organisation in whatever capacity they are able, we offer opportunities for funding and access to Partnership wide initiatives like the hugely successful Health Checks Programme.
Originating from the Wow Partnership work and working in conjunction with The Five Parks Primary Care Network, Royds Community Association is also the home of the Social Prescribing Team. The role of the team is to provide link worker support to patients where medical support might not be the answer. It’s the kind of help that doesn’t come in a tube or a bottle and helps you have more control over your own health and find ways to improve hour you feel in a way that suits you.
Royds offers a Place for Everyone.
