Skipton Men's Shed is an opportunity for guys to make new friends, learn woodworking skills and make something useful.
We focus on men over 18 (but ladies are welcome too) whether they have practical experience or none. We have an accessible workshop to the rear of the former Ings School, and we are happy to welcome people with a disability including any carer or keyworker to support them.
Our workshop is primarily set up for woodworking, but there is space for folk to do their own creative projects - and we have a wild garden for those with green fingers. We engage in both our own projects as well as being commissioned to produce items for community groups or for sale, such as bird boxes, planters, tables etc
We are looking to expand our range of interest to bike maintenance and restoration, and other creative projects such as art and photography are encouraged too.
One of the most important features is sitting around with a brew and a biscuit, getting to know folk and sharing a bit of wit and banter.
