Be The Change
We are the Youth Voice and Creative Engagement Service for North Yorkshire County Council, and we supporting young people to be heard.
We work with 11-25s across a range of Youth Voice groups that exist across the county. Within Craven District we support:
- Craven Youth Council - a group of 11-18s (up to 25 for those with SEND) who work democratically to creative positive impacts on their community, based on the needs and ideas of young people in the area. They create surveys, host consultations, elect their youth council leaders, create events, take action in their community, fundraise and collaborate with local charities and organisations. They are also linked to UK Youth Parliament, where we occasionally take part in National consultations.
- Young Inspectors - a group of 11-25 volunteers who inspect council services, especially those that directly affect young people. They undertake visits, interviews, create surveys, as well as meeting for training and socials throughout the year.
- North Yorkshire Youth Pride - a diverse group of 13-25s who currently meet online every 2 weeks to socialise, create campaigns and plan events in different localities.
