Bentham Older People Together are a group of local Bentham voluntary services. This includes a welcoming Lunch Club facility for older people (55+) of Bentham and surrounding areas providing a hot meal and activities. We run from Low Bentham Victoria Institute and known as the Community Link Café. This is open Monday and Wednesday.
On Friday we operate as The Friday Lunch club (Age Concern) running at the Masonic Lodge in High Bentham.
Transport is provided from your door to our door if needed.
When people meet and eat a meal together it not only reduces isolation and loneliness but can also improve your health and well being.
People who use our service say:
"Its wonderful, I meet my friends here and its like coming home"
"Its so nice to have a meal cooked for you"
"I've spent the day with people...its better than the tv or an empty house."
This is a not for profit community organisation and is funded via grants and charitable support.
Supported by Two Ridings Community Foundation and the Grassroots Endowment (www.trcf.org.uk)
We are open three days a week:
Monday at Low Bentham Village Institute 11:00 until 2:30 for drinks, snacks, soup and activities.
Wednesday at Low Bentham Village Institute 11:00 until 2:30 for two course hot meal and activities.
Friday at The Masonic Lodge High Bentham from 10:00 until 2:30 for two course hot meal and activities.
We offer befriending and support at times of need following bereavement or when a loved one goes into long term care, and on a longer term basis. We can help with those little jobs you may need help with including prescriptions, form filling, meals, and many more.
We are that friend who is there for you.
