Skipton Community Wellbeing Cafe
St Andrews Hall
Newmarket Street
Skipton
BD23 2JE
Craven
The cafe is a collaboration between volunteers from Skipton churches and mental health/wellbeing support from Pioneer Projects, providing a place for the community to meet, build friendships, engage in activities and get practical support and advice.
Started in August 2018, the community has grown to 30-50 people each week with support from a range of services including Craven College, CAP Debt Centre and Job Club, WACA and Modality Social Prescribing, Cellar Trust, Mind, Skipton Food Bank and NYC Stronger Communities.
The cafe is a welcoming and safe place for people in the local community, focussed on providing friendship, practical help and support.
Open every Thursday afternoon between 1pm and 3.30pm, our helpers serve free refreshments including tea, coffee, cakes, biscuits and fruit, with budget priced toasties and jacket potatoes.
Alongside the cafe, Pioneer Projects offers art and craft activities and wellbeing support. The cafe is also supported by Skipton Foodbank and part of the Fareshare Scheme, so we usually have a food panty offer for attenders.
