Bentham News
Craven
Bentham News is a community newspaper, published by a committee of volunteers, all brought together on a monthly basis by a paid coordinator and a paid advertising manager. Bentham News has been publishing for over 30 years and is now a well-loved and trusted part of the community of Bentham and other villages close to Bentham. 2,200 copies each month are put through letter boxes and into village shops and post offices by 40+ volunteers. In addition, 60+ copies are mailed out to subscribers who do not live in Bentham. BN is also posted in its entirety on line each month, along with a directory of local advertisers, plus any articles which have come in too late for the deadline and any extra photos which could not be included in the printed version.
What support does BN provide?
Articles about any topic of local interest can be submitted free of charge for inclusion in BN. This is an excellent way to get information out to the community as BN is widely read and trusted. Not-for-profit events can be advertised for free, and a charge is made for business advertisements. There is a People Page where people can submit notices of births, marriages and deaths, thanks and information about charitable funds raised at various local events, such as coffee mornings or sponsored activites.
