NHS Morecambe Bay Clinical Commissioning Group
Craven
NHS Morecambe Bay Clinical Commissioning Group covers a large and dispersed geographical area and is made up of 35 member GP practices, who care for around 360,784 patients across a range of both urban and rural communities.
NHS Morecambe Bay Clinical Commissioning Group was established in April 2017 following formal boundary change and the integration of the former Lancashire North Clinical Commissioning Group and the South Cumbria network of the Cumbria Clinical Commissioning Group.
Based across three locality sites of Moor Lane Mills in Lancaster city centre, Enterprise House in Kendal and Stafford House in Barrow-in-Furness, the CCG is a membership organisation that comprises 35 GP practices, though following a number of practice alignments, we outreach to our communities through 64 individual practice venues.
The member practices have delegated responsibility to the Governing Body of NHS Morecambe Bay CCG, which ensures that the CCG operates efficiently and in the best interests of the population it serves.
NHS Morecambe Bay Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is run by local GPs. It aims to buy high quality, safe and effective health services that meet the needs of residents in Ambleside, Askam-in-Furness, Barrow-in-Furness, Bentham, Carnforth, Dalton-in-Furness, Grange-over-Sands, Kendal, Kirkby-in-Furness, Lancaster, Millom, Milnthorpe, Morecambe, Sedbergh, Ulverston and Windermere.
To do this we use local clinical expertise, evidence of good practice and the experience of patients who use the services we commission.
