We aim to provide a high quality health-care service to all our patients in a friendly, informal and efficient environment. We have a highly skilled and experienced team who work together to provide the best care possible.
Our Practice Area
Our Practice area covers Cross Hills, Sutton, Cowling, Glusburn, Eastburn, Steeton & Silsden and reaches as far as Utley and Laycock towards Keighley. On the Skipton side we cover Lothersdale, Farnhill, Kildwick, Cononley and Bradley. This area is approximately 30 square miles and we are fortunate to have some fantastic countryside around us. We will only take new patients from within this catchment area so if you are unsure as to whether you do fall within our Practice Area please give us a call.
Patient Population
We currently have an increasing list of just over 12,000 patients. Recent housing developments have increased the local population and our list size. There is a wide patient demographic mix (from young families to elderly nursing home patients) but the Practice is generally similar to national averages regarding prevalence of disease.
We are now an accredited Armed Forces Veteran Friendly Practice.
The Fisher Medical Centre established in 1885 provides medical services to over 14,000 patients over almost 140 square miles of the Craven area. We work from our main premises in Skipton, and our branch surgery in Gargrave.
In October 2017 Fisher Medical Centre became part of the Airedale, Wharfedale & Craven District Modality Partnership, combining seven GP Pracitces into one Super GP Partnership. The AWC Modality District comprises of Fisher Medical Centre, Holycroft Medical Practice, Cross Hills Group Practice, Farfield Medical Practice, Oakworth Medical Practice, Kilmeny Group Medical Practice, Silsden & Steeton Medical Practice and Haworth Medical Practice.
