Community First Yorkshire is an influential, regional body working across North, South and West Yorkshire to inspire and support positive local action.
We are the first port of call for voluntary and community organisations, social enterprises and parish councils looking for practical support.
We help with everything from governance and funding, to strategic planning and community engagement through our training and events, resources and networks.
We are also a rural community council, part of the national ACRE Network (Action with Communities in Rural England) helping communities improve the quality of life for all people living and working in rural Yorkshire.
Community Support and Volunteering
We offer a wealth of support and advice to voluntary and community organisations and social enterprises in North Yorkshire, including on the following topics: funding and fundraising, governance, business and finance management, recruiting and managing volunteers and trustees. We also represent the voluntary and community sector to key stakeholders and work with the sector to amplify their voice on subjects that matter to them.
Rural Advocacy
We are a rural community council, an independent, charitable organisation working across rural areas of North, South and West Yorkshire, to help communities improve the quality of life for all people living and working in rural Yorkshire. We provide an important rural advocacy role and encourage our partners to provide equitable services and facilities for rural communities and individuals, and help them to develop solutions that meet those needs.
