Settle Area Swimming Pool
Craven
Settle Area Swimming Pool provides indoor swimming facilities to the population of Settle and its rural hinterland, plus visitors to the area. It has provided these facilities continuously since 1974. Settle Area Swimming Pool was built by the community in 1972. It has always been largely self funded, with some support from local Councils. It was registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (number 1171790) in February 2017, formerly being a registered charity (number 523831). Its aim is to provide indoor swimming facilities and a wide ranging programme of fitness classes for the people of Settle and surrounding area. It is the only indoor public pool in a 13 mile radius, and serves a rural hinterland as well as visitors to the area, which is on the edge of the Dales Yorkshire Dales National Park. The pool provides public swimming sessions, lessons for both adults and children, specialist sessions for older people and those with physical disabilities, babies, parents and toddlers.
