Barrow Community Learning & Skills provide a wide variety of courses and workshops held in a variety of locations in Barrow and South Lakes. These include English, Maths, Languages; Italian and Spanish, ICT; ECDL, ITQ, Office 2016, Safe Social Media, Digital Imaging, Arts & Crafts; Pottery, Drawing, Sewing & Textiles, Upcycling Fashion, Upcycling Furniture, Jewellery Making, and Health & Wellbeing; Mindfulness, Cooking on a Budget, Spanish Tapas and Vegan Cookery – there really is something for everyone!
Barrow Community Learning and Skills run a broad range of courses for adults over 19, including Arts & Crafts, Digital Skills, Languages, and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages). We also provide support for learners wishing to gain qualifications, including Functional Skills and GCSE courses.
We also work closely with the local community to provide Targeted Learning support for Community Groups and charitites, and more specialist partners. For example, we work closely with Barrow Job Centre and other organisations to run 'Employability' and Confidence courses to help people gain employment.
