Art Gene is a Barrow based arts charity led by co-founder/directors/artists Maddi Nicholson and Stuart Bastik, who jointly have 40 years experience of working with communities. Art Gene focuses on ‘Linking Our Landscapes and Communities’ to increase pride of place, health and well being and to build on our status voted 'Number 1 for the quality of its natural heritage assets' RSA 2016/17.
Art Gene works with communities to engage them in projects relating to the regeneration of the social, natural and built environment around the Islands and Bays of Barrow and Furness. Art Gene hosts free arts events for communities to get involved in, focused around our local natural heritage and assets.
