The Health Care and Communities directorate encompasses, Public Health, Community Development and all of the nine libraries in Allerdale delivering community services.
Public Health work closely with third sector partners to deliver campaign messages across Allerdale to help to improve the health and wellbeing of the people in the area. The County Council's Community Development Teams manage a range of grant funds that are used to invest in communities to bring about a positive and lasting change for the benefit of the whole community. Allerdale libraries are a place for people to visit; borrow books & DVDs etc,access a wide range of services. We also hold events within the libraries such as Garden Parties, Children’s Events and author events.
