The Equality Act 2010 came into force on 1 October 2010 and combines almost all UK previous anti-discrimination laws in one single law.
This factsheet explains basic information about discrimination and equality as covered by the Act. One of its most important aspects of the Act is the Public Sector Equality Duty – a duty for public bodies to
consider and apply fairness and equality, especially in making decisions or policies.
