Although not a therapeutic space, the course provides opportunities to learn new skills, connect with other people, be physically active, give to others and pay attention to the present moment. It has a defined schedule of activity each week, drawing on forest school for adults and mindfulness-based practises in nature.
There are three twelve-week courses running in term times only. These start on the following dates and run each consecutive week thereafter (except school holidays). Each session starts at 10am and ends at 2pm
• Tuesday 7 May (FULL and already started)
• Tuesday 24 September

How patients can take part:
People can now self-refer. Patients can also be referred from social prescribers, GPs, link workers and other referring agencies (see ‘How to refer participants’ below for how to do this).
Transportation to the site
Most of our last cohort reached the site by car, but we understand not everyone has access to a vehicle. In this project, there is some funding for community transport, but it depends where your client lives. Please contact Alison on 07968 763398 or [email protected] to discuss further.
To reach the site by public transport and car, please take a look at this web page for directions and other options: www.ampleforthabbey.org.uk/visit-us/find-us
Course cost and payment:
Courses are heavily subsidised costing just £5 per session (or £60 if paying for the whole 12 weeks up front). If service users are struggling financially, we can provide flexible payment options and one or two free places if there is sufficient service user commitment.
Once clients have been referred, payment for the course will be discussed to work out the best possible option.
How to refer participants:
Please contact Alison Goodwin in the first instance to have a conversation about the patient and if this will be suitable: [email protected] or 07968 763398.
Once agreed, Alison will send a patient referral form to complete.
Please note, patients are welcome to come along to the Community Drop Ins (see below) before committing to a longer course. If staff wish to attend with their client, they can do so free of charge.
