Latest updates from The Gateway Group - Monday 15 Jul 2024
On 4th July 2024, The Gateway Group Board met for their quarterly meeting. At this meeting a presentation was delivered by Helen McConville and Derek Houston from the Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB with regard to future plans and discussions for the ICCs. In addition, we were also joined by Becky Wolstenholme the CEO from Cumbria Youth Alliance who provided us with an update on the work they are doing. Through The Gateway Group we hope to ensure the voice of the Third Sector across South Lakeland is heard at ICB level and also at the South Cumbria Place Based partnership level. WE also sit on the Lancashire and South Cumbria VCFSE Alliance. Whilst there is little to report on at this time it is hoped that as we move forward there will be more to discuss and issues on which we can seek and present feedback. One development that may come to fruition is the possibility of funding to deliver a Take Home and Settle initiative for older patients in Furness General and Westmorland General and we are waiting to get further details of this. The next meeting of the South Cumbria Place Based Partnership is on 25th July. Another piece of work being developed is the possibility of a Wellness Centre, probably based somewhere in Barrow, so our partners in Barrow will be leading on this although there may also be some impact of this initiative on South Lakeland so we will continue to be involved in those discussions. Attached are the slides from the ICC discussion and also the newsletter from Cumbria Youth Alliance. Should anyone wish to have any further information or ask any questions, please get in touch. Phil Whiteley. Chair - The Gateway Group.
